We are pleased to announce a special lecture on Thursday, November 20, 2025, featuring Prof. Jianwei Zhang from the University of Hamburg, Germany. Prof. Zhang has been dedicated to research in intelligent robotics, embodied AI, and multimodal large language models (Multimodal LLMs), while actively promoting applications in Industry 4.0 and smart healthcare. About
Jianwei Zhang is a Professor and the Director of the Institute of Technical Aspects of Multimodal Systems at the University of Hamburg. He is a member of the German Academy of Science and Engineering and an International Member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. He earned both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Artificial Intelligence from the Department of Computer Science at Tsinghua University, completing his Ph.D. in Robotics at the University of Karlsruhe. His research and development interests encompass Intelligent Robots, Embodied AI, Multimodal LLMs, and applications in Industry 4.0, Medical Systems, and more. He has published 600+ papers and books, along with 100+ patented inventions and 10+ best paper awards. As a leader in the field, he has spearheaded 10+ large-scale international R&D projects and played a pivotal scientific role in incubating three Unicorn startups. He serves as the General Chair of the Flagship Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS) in Hamburg, among other notable responsibilities.
